DOOMFOXX have recorded their debut, self-titled album with noted producer Peter Blyton and taken big leaps forward on the international music scene. Especially in Europe, where in the latter half of 2005 the band toured three times: with Rose Tattoo in June July, Quireboys in October and Uli Jon Roth in November, including a major highlight in early August appearing at the prestige WACKEN OPEN AIR hard-rock / metal festival in front of 40,000 people, after having been the first band in the history of WOA to play all stages on three different occasions; culminating in final night¹s main stage amazing show.

Live, DOOMFOXX's reputation has been growing rapidly with show after show receiving rave reviews as the band carves its way through the pubs and clubs of Europe.
The stage is dipped into a dark red light. Drum and bass start with a restraint and a grooving beat. A hoarse singing, like a whisper seduces. And then the stage explodes and the quiet animal becomes a wild beast, hurled at the public in the form of high energy kick ass Rock'n'Roll. In July of 2005, DOOMFOXX played two important showcases: in London at the Blow Up Metro and in New York at the Tap Bar in the Knitting Factory, presented by Tamara Conniff, Exec. The band continues its rock assault in Europe in 2006 touring with The Darkness in Germany in March and will continue its live campaign in Europe to support the album with more dates and tours to be announced. In 2005 audiences in Germany, France, UK, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Belgium experienced DOOMFOXX live and on all occasions DOOMFOXX made an army of new friends and devotees wherever they played. The band is steadily building its profile in Europe and 2006 will be a big year as the band will also release the album in Australia and plans for a UK, North American release with touring are in the pipeline.

The blues rock n' roll influences of the band are there to be heard, with comparisons to AC / DC, Rose Tattoo and Guns & Roses prevalent, with the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith also evident, yet DOOMFOXX creates it's own distinctive sound.
The music that Doomfoxx plays is high energy pounding music. The vibe of a band that has been missing in the music industry today. McKie and Burec served their rock apprenticeship together in a young, inner-city based Sydney band named Circle. When Circle reached its lifespan, McKie headed to New York and during this time he met another Aussie musician, Dave Thomas, who had been playing with a number of indi bands in Sydney, before he too headed for the Big Apple. When they both returned home, McKie hooked up with his old mate Burec and with Thomas and two other mates formed Flame Boa. The mix just wasn't quite right, even though Flame Boa was creating attention. So from the evolution of Flame Boa, DOOMFOXX was born with the addition of the hot, young, former bass player of Hell City Glamours, Archi Read and with the final piece of the rock n' roll jigsaw puzzle being founding member of Rose Tattoo, guitarist Mick Cocks, when they plugged in the amps and cranked it up, they created a very special sound and a very special band.
After recording a cheap demo and attracting management, DOOMFOXX then gained the attention of noted producer Peter Blyton, who has worked with such established Australian rock bands as Divynls, Choirboys, Australian Crawl, Michael Hutchence (INXS) and many more. Blyton and DOOMFOXX recorded a 4 track EP in January 2005, which served the band well as in introduction to DOOMFOXX. This EP secured a record deal with Armageddon Music in Germany and the band after performing two, 4 week, sold out residencies in Sydney in succession at two different venues (Spectrum and The Excelsior Hotel) then entered the studio in May 2005 to record their debut album. The results were stunning and DOOMFOXX then set off on a series of warm-up shows with Rose Tattoo, before heading overseas to tour Europe on a 20 date tour with the legendary Tatts. It was a great introduction and through this opportunity DOOMFOXX has now capitalised on this exposure and their subsequent album release in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and the future in 2006 is looking very bright for these hard-rockers who continue to impress. |
